Highlands Ranch Water’s priority is to provide high-quality drinking water for our community. We care about our customers and the environment and take pride in delivering water that meets all EPA and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) regulatory standards.
The EPA recently finalized regulatory standards for PFAS. The rule requires water providers to test for six PFAS compounds and gives them until 2029 to be in compliance with the new monitoring levels.
Highlands Ranch Water has been monitoring and testing for PFAS since 2019, and we have detected PFAS in our source water. Highlands Ranch Water’s latest test results comply with the EPA’s new standards. Our staff are closely monitoring PFAS and the EPA’s recommendations. We have proactively been investigating ways to refine our treatment process for PFAS removal and are doing everything we can to minimize its presence using current treatment techniques.
The bottom line, Highlands Ranch Water continues to meet all Safe Drinking Water regulations and customers can be assured when they turn on their tap, they are receiving clean water, ready to be enjoyed.
Customers can learn more about Highlands Ranch Water’s water quality and our rigorous monitoring and testing process for PFAS on the water quality pages of our website. We will be releasing our annual Water Quality Report later this spring.
