Pipeline Replacement Projects
Highlands Ranch Water and the Highlands Ranch Metro District are collaborating on infrastructure improvement projects in three neighborhoods this summer, replacing approximately 2,175 linear feet of aging water and sewer pipelines. These upgrades address systems that have required more frequent repairs in recent years. Construction involves excavating and removing existing pipelines before installing new mains. Public streets will remain open throughout the project.
Work will take place in the following areas:
- Gleneagles Village Parkway and Cresthill Lane
- Wildcat Reserve Parkway and Silver Maple Road
- Shadow Mountain Drive between Old Stone Drive and Arrowhead Road

Shadow Mountain Pipeline Replacement
Final connections are being made, and all customers are being returned to permanent water service.
Asphalt patching and concrete restoration are expected to be completed by Sept. 25. The staging area will be removed and restored by the end of September.
Final walkthroughs are scheduled for Sept. 29. Douglas County will mill and overlay Shadow Mountain as part of its regular paving operations by the end of October.
Gleneagles Sewer Replacement
Pipework has been completed, and final restoration of asphalt, concrete, and open space areas is expected to be completed by the end of September.
Silver Maple Pipeline Replacement
Mobilization will begin on Sept. 24, followed by milling of the asphalt along the pipeline alignment on Sept. 25.
Installation of the temporary water system will begin on Sept. 28, followed by removal and replacement of the existing water main.
Customers are expected to be returned to permanent water service through the new water main by Oct. 9. Asphalt and concrete restoration is scheduled for the week of Oct. 12.
