Pipeline Replacement Projects
Highlands Ranch Water and the Highlands Ranch Metro District are collaborating on infrastructure improvement projects in three neighborhoods this summer, replacing approximately 2,175 linear feet of aging water and sewer pipelines. These upgrades address systems that have required more frequent repairs in recent years. Construction involves excavating and removing existing pipelines before installing new mains. Public streets will remain open throughout the project.
Work will take place in the following areas:
- Gleneagles Village Parkway and Cresthill Lane
- Wildcat Reserve Parkway and Silver Maple Road
- Shadow Mountain Drive between Old Stone Drive and Arrowhead Road

Shadow Mountain Pipeline Replacement
As of Friday, Aug. 14, all customers within the first phase of the project are being served by the temporary water system. We appreciate your patience throughout this process.
The replacement of the water main will continue through Aug. 17-21. The following week, the contractor is scheduled to begin testing, disinfection, and making connections to the permanent water services. Asphalt patching and concrete restoration are scheduled for Aug. 27 and 28.
Once all customers in the first phase have been returned to permanent water service, the contractor will move the temporary water system to the second phase of the project and begin testing, disinfection and connections to homes.
The second phase of the replacement will begin at 1194 Shadow Mountain Drive and continue to the intersection of Shadow Mountain Drive and Arrowhead Road. Additional information and scheduled dates will be provided as they are determined in the coming weeks.
Gleneagles Sewer Replacement
The contractor will be onsite the week of Aug. 17 to begin replacement of the sanitary sewer main. Installation of the bypass line is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 17, and Tuesday, Aug. 18. Once completed, crews will begin replacing the main, starting on the north side of Gleneagles Village Parkway.
Single-lane closures will be required while work is underway within the roadway, beginning Monday, Aug. 17. To help minimize impacts to school traffic, lane closures will not begin until after the start of the school day and all lanes will reopen each afternoon once the day’s work has been completed.
Silver Maple Pipeline Replacement
Construction on the Silver Maple Pipeline Replacement Project is currently scheduled to begin the first week of September. Additional details will be provided in the coming weeks.
